While I haven’t opened either of these bottles yet, I rather surprised myself with the quality of this photo I took, and I wanted to share it.  It was shot on my kitchen table, using my family’s ages-old American Flag, and a clamp stand from my business’s equipment stash.  I lit it with a small LED light, which was plenty.  It was shot with my Canon EOS 60D and a 135mm lens.  I’m looking to upgrade my lenses, but this one turned out pretty much perfectly.

I’ll be trying both of these bottles soon, and will update the blog as I do.  In the meantime, head over to haveashotoffreedom.com and read the story of the reason these bottles exist.  I never considered that Freedom itself could have a flavor, but I can imagine that after a fierce battle to defend it, that it would have to take on new meaning.

UPDATE:  When we did our live tasting, we found the gin to be quite good, and very reminiscent of the flavors we find in Hendricks gin.  The bourbon had rye on the nose, caramel and plum on the palette with faint hints of vanilla, and the finish had us holding on to notes of caramel and that rye grass.  Overall, it’s a tasty whiskey, unlike anything else we’ve tried, and despite its youth, it does have a small amount of complexity in the experience.  I can only imagine what a 10 year might taste like.

Enjoy!   🥃
